Dallas In-Home Newborn Session

As a Dallas newborn photographer, I’ve had the privilege of meeting countless incredible families, and the Marcum family was no exception. From the moment I entered their home, it felt like reuniting with old friends, even though we’ve only chatted a few times through Instagram. I was thrilled when this sweet little girl’s mom reached out to book her Dallas in-home newborn and lifestyle session.

Their home was the perfect place to capture the genuine warmth and love between this sweet new family of three. The beautiful and unique decor added personality and meaning to their images. Every corner seemed to tell a story, and each item held significance. It was clear that their home was a reflection of their personalities and their journey as a family.

Nursery Details

This sweet little girl’s nursery was incredible – and so cute! Tiny details adorned the nursery that nodded towards their life here in Dallas, Texas and her dad’s work at a cowboy hat company. You could tell a great deal of thought, care, and intention went into every item and its placement. The cowboy boot rug, a throw pillow embroidered with “I run this rodeo”, and the wall of themed books, are just a few of my favorite details.

Mom and dad also had a cowboy hat wall in their bedroom that we made sure to include! This unique detail added a personal touch that resonated with their family story. It’s these individual details that make each family’s story and images incredibly special.

In addition to all the amazing decor and details of their home, their two adorable dogs were also able to join in. This is another one of the many wonderful benefits of having an in-home session! It was important to the Marcum family to include their dogs in their photos. To my delight, the dogs not only cooperated but also visibly loved their new little sister.

As a newborn photographer, my goal is to not just capture images but to encapsulate emotions and connections. The Marcum family’s in-home session did just that, capturing precious moments between this amazing family and the start of this new chapter in life.

Q: Why did you decide to do newborn photos?

Because I knew I would want to capture the preciousness of those early days! It’s true what they say: they change SO fast and I always want to remember how tiny and sweet she was.

Q: What was your favorite part of your newborn session?

I am so glad we decided to do it in our home. We were able to be super comfortable and cozy, totally stress free, and our dogs could participate (this was very important to me, and Lindsey was extremely accommodating to this!). Because we did it in our home, I feel like our personality comes through in our decor, which gives more meaning to the photos that we will have forever!

Q: What would you tell someone who is thinking about booking with me?

I was blown away by how confident and comfortable you were with the baby, very chill and easy going with us and our dogs, and how seamless the whole process was. I am beyond thrilled with the whole experience and the resulting photos. I didn’t have to provide ANY specifics on what I wanted, yet you still delivered beyond my wildest dreams. These photos are extremely special and I am so happy and grateful I found you. Get ready to take family photos for many years for us 🙂
