Cozy In-Home Newborn Session

There’s something incredibly special about welcoming a new baby into the world, and I had the privilege of capturing the joy and love of baby Warren during his cozy in-home newborn session. This sweet family selected my first year collection, allowing me to document baby Warren’s growth throughout his first year. I think everyone can agree that newborns seem to change almost daily throughout their first year! That is why first year collections are my favorite to capture. I know firsthand how important it is to capture these fleeting moments during your child’s first year.

As I stepped into the family’s cozy home, I was greeted with warmth and smiles. Their decision to have an in-home session allowed me to showcase not only their adorable baby boy but also their favorite parts of their home. My favorite room was Warren’s nursery, which featured a natural aesthetic with olive green walls, live plants, and warm earthy tones. It was incredibly welcoming and tranquil – a perfect baby boy nursery.

In addition to the nursery, we captured portraits in the living room by the fireplace, snuggled up on his parents’ comfy bed, and even a few portraits outside by their front entrance in the backyard on their gorgeous patio. Capturing the family in each of these spaces adds so much more meaning to the photos, as each space adds a layer of personal significance to their collection of images.

Wherever we ventured, the family’s sweet, adorable dog, Lemon, followed nearby. It was really important to have Lemon in the photos, as she is very much a member of their family. You could see her gentle and loving nature toward baby Warren. It was heartwarming to witness Lemon’s protectiveness and curiosity as she interacted with Warren. I am sure these two will grow to be inseparable best friends!

It was an absolute joy to capture the sweetness of baby Warren, and document this exciting time in life for this new family of three. The first year collection is an incredible opportunity to capture the milestones and growth of a baby. I’m thrilled to be a part of this family’s journey. From capturing Warren’s first smiles to his first bite of cake, we will create a beautiful visual story of his first year that will be treasured for generations to come.

Q: Why did you decide to do newborn photos?

A: We had a long heartbreaking journey to get to have our sweet Warren here. We wanted to capture the pure joy and peace we have with Warren joining our family. It was important to be in our home and to really feel the true sense of our family at this stage in our life.

Q: What was your favorite part of your newborn session?

A: Being in our home and having our personalities shine through the pictures was a true joy. As I mentioned, it was important to capture who we really are in this stage and having Lindsey do just that was such a blessing. We were able to do it in multiple places in our house which was so fun.

Q: What would you tell someone who is thinking about booking with me?

A: To enjoy every moment and be yourself. Lindsey does a great job at making you feel comfortable and relaxed while capturing your families personality.
