Where do I even start with this amazing family! I met newborn Emma and her lovely family for their in-home lifestyle newborn portraits at their Prosper TX home. They were all so sweet and welcoming. I felt right at home as soon as I walked through the door! Baby Emma was precious and slept through most of our session.Â
In-Home Lifestyle Newborn Portraits
Mom, Dad, big sister, Savannah, and Emma all coordinated wonderfully. I loved their chosen outfits and how well they complemented each other and the cozy in-home setting. I was thrilled to learn that they followed my family style guide!!
When photographing families with younger kids, I always start with the kids and get sibling photos first. You just never know how things will go, or how much time you have before they are over it and done. However, I didn’t have to worry about that, as Savannah and newborn Emma made my job easy! Savannah modeled her adorable big sister shirt and matching pink bow. She was eager to snuggle and love on her baby sister. She LOVES Emma so much and it was so sweet to watch them together.Â
Newborn Portraits with a Big Sister
To end our session, Mom wanted photos of Emma in the darling little sister outfit that she wore for her newborn photos. Well, Emma was not happy! Once mom scooped her up in her arms all was good and she fell back asleep. I am in love with the photo of her sleeping peacefully wrapped in mom’s arms as she sucks her thumb.Â
Throughout the session, Kim and I talked and I mentioned how much I loved Emma’s middle name, Hope. Kim told me that they had tried for quite a while for her. I then told her about the baby we lost before having my now 1 year old son. Before we knew we were having a boy, we had two names picked out, and if we ended up having a girl, the middle name would have also been Hope. In our conversation about when I lost my sweet angel baby, I mentioned that it was on March 24th, which it turns out is Savannah’s Birthday! I had chills hearing this! I love the sweet connection I had with this family. I had the best time getting to know them and capturing these special moments.
I can’t wait to watch both these little girls grow up!  Thank you for welcoming me into your home and allowing me to capture your beautiful family!
