Fall is always a popular time for family sessions. There is so much to love with the cooler evenings, changing colors, and cozy outfits. It makes for the perfect season to update your family photos and spend time together. Not to mention, many families like to have autumn portraits done to use for Christmas cards and gifts. I’m so excited to officially open booking for my Fall Family Sessions in the Dallas area.
Every year, I look forward to my Fall sessions, as I get to reconnect with so many of my returning families while also welcoming new faces. Watching families grow year after year is one of the greatest joys of my job.
Fall Family Sessions Across the Dallas Area
This year’s fall portraits will be spread throughout the northern Dallas area, covering Frisco, Plano, Flower Mound, and The Colony. This gives families several beautiful options across various locations in North Dallas. Whether you’re looking for wide open fields, an area with gorgeous trees to show of the fall foliage, or a clean natural backdrop, I’ve carefully chosen locations that photograph beautifully.
Why Fall Is the Best Time to Book
Fall sessions fill quickly every year, and for good reason. Not only are they perfect for holiday cards and gifts for grandparents, but they also capture your family during one of the most beautiful seasons of the year. Fall sunsets and autumn color create gorgeous backdrops.
Family sessions are important as children are constantly are growing and changing. Every year brings new milestones, missing teeth, longer legs, and personalities that continue to shine, which is why these are the moments worth preserving.
Which Session Is Right for You?
You’ll notice that I am opening my fall calendar offering a few different types of sessions. I offer mini, petite and full sessions. If you not sure which one to book, here is a brief overview.
Mini Sessions
Mini sessions are best for seasonal portraits, quick family updates, holiday cards, or themed shoots. These 15 minute sessions include 5 edited digital images, and are great for families with older kiddos or little ones who do best with a quick session. You’ll notice the mini sessions on my fall calendar are themed or seasonal, like Santa portraits!
Petite Sessions
While both mini and petite sessions are held on specific dates or seasons (usually spring and fall), in contrast, petite sessions are best for milestones, updated family wall photos, or as an in-between option. They include 30 minutes of photography and 20-30 edited images.
Petite sessions are a wonderful choice when you want a bit more time than a mini session allows, but don’t need a full hour. With more time, we can capture more candid moments, different family combinations, and have a more relaxed experience. Plus, this additional time is perfect for adding variety and if you have little ones that take a minute to warm up and feel comfortable in front of the camera.
Full Sessions
Full sessions include over 60 minutes of photography with 50+ edited images in color and B&W. They allow for multiple outfits, different settings, and plenty of time to capture candid moments, ensuring every detail is captured in a personalized, meaningful way. Not to mention you have access to my client wardrobe. Instead of my selecting a specific day and location, like I do for petite and mini sessions, you get to pick when and where you want the session. Full sessions are designed for those who want to tell a complete story through their photos.
Regardless of the option you choose, my goal is always the same: to create genuine, joyful images that feel like your family.

Why I Only Offer a Handful of Mini Sessions
You might notice that I offer far fewer mini sessions than other photographers, and that’s intentional. While I love the convenience of mini sessions, (as a mom, I understand that sometimes you simply can’t commit to more than 15 min. Trust me, I’ve been there!), my heart has always been with my petite and full sessions.
That extra time makes such a difference, as we are able to slow down, let little ones warm up, capture genuine connection, and create a relaxed experience instead of feeling rushed. It also allows me to get to know you better and create a real connection to families, which I absolutely love.
Some of my favorite moments are those in between moments that you can’t plan for, the giggles, the cuddles, the conversations, and the little personalities that come out when everyone has a chance to simply be together. These sweet candid moments are often lost in mini sessions, as there isn’t enough time. That’s why I’ve built my fall calendar primarily around petite sessions and full sessions. I’m still offering a limited number of mini sessions for families who love a quick annual update, or a good holiday theme. However, if you want a little more time to connect and tell your family’s story, a petite or full Session is my favorite way to do that.
Book Your Fall Portraits
If you’ve been thinking about scheduling family photos this fall, now is the time, as my dates are limited and tend to sell out quickly. I can’t wait to see familiar faces, meet new families, and create beautiful memories together this fall.
