I can’t believe Jamie is one! I’ve known his parents for awhile – Alison, Jamie’s mom, worked with my husband while we were in California. We reconnected while we were both pregnant with our first babies. When she reached out about capturing Jamie’s cake smash, I couldn’t wait for the day to arrive they’d be coming to my home studio. Jamie’s classic first birthday cake smash was classic and just so much fun for all of us!

First Birthday Cake Smash

Jamie was so sweet during our cake smash session! He looked like a little gentleman the entire time. And when his family put him in suspenders for the actual cake smash, it was just so cute!! We started off the session with some traditional milestone portraits and a few family photos. His big sister, Isla, wanted to be in all of the photos – she’s a little ham! During those portraits, Jamie wasn’t too sure about me – but once the cake came out, he was TOTALLY into the session!

Once he realized he could dive into the chocolate cake, the session got really fun for him. Isla was ready to dive in for the cake too – and was super excited when Jamie was finally done so she could have a bite. Happy birthday, Jamie! I loved capturing your first birthday cake smash in my Little Elm studio. It was the perfect way to celebrate the big O-N-E!
