Bringing a newborn baby home is such a special and intimate family experience. Whether it is your first baby, or your fourth, the family dynamic changes when you bring home a new bundle of joy. I had the honor of photographing this sweet family for their Carrollton Texas In-Home Newborn Session. They recently welcomed their second baby girl, Genevieve, into the world and wanted to capture the memories of their first days at home as a new family of four.
Baby Girl In-Home Newborn Session
I love in-home sessions for newborns. It allows the family to relax without the stress of making sure you pack everything in the diaper bag. During this time, parents and babies are still adjusting to their new, and ever changing sleep schedules, while also trying to get into a routine and rhythm. It is a sweet moment in time where life tends to slow down and I love capturing glimpses of the family closeness and the new bonds that are forming.
I loved this sweet little girl and her big sister! I could tell her big sister is curious about her new sister. She kept peeking over and checking on her while in dad’s arms or while she was laying in the woven bassinet. You could tell the sister bond is already forming and I loved watching them interact. I have no doubt that she will completely rock her new role as big sister.
However, she was not a fan of me and my camera, but she did show interest in my photography gear! I always try to have the kids explore and help me out if they show an interest. As most kids do, she started to warm up to me as she helped me with a few photos.
Carrollton TX Newborn
I just love the name Genevieve! It is such a cute name! Genevieve had the most adorable little outfits for her newborn photos. I loved her white swaddle and matching white bow headband. She looked so angelic as she slept soundly, only waking for a few moments here and there. We captured beautiful images of the whole family snuggled close together on the big bed and on their family couch. The wonderful thing about in-home sessions is that anything you need is close by. Big sister read a few books with mom, while dad tended to Genevieve.
Her second outfit was a customized onesie with her name on it, which I love! To end Genevieve’s newborn portraits, she was changed into an adorable, dusty pink onesie decorated with brown buttons. She was awake towards the end of the session and I loved catching her beautiful brown eyes and teeny-tiny little toes.
Genevieve is precious! It was an absolute joy to capture her newborn photos and the rest of her amazing family during their Carrollton Texas in-home newborn session. Enjoy a few of my favorite photos of this adorable baby girl and her family!Â
